One of my last boat-readiness tasks this spring was to get Jackdaw's name on her. In the age of computer-cut vinyl lettering, there is no reason not to have your boat's name proudly emblazoned on her hull. It’s not just “having this thing” that makes life worth living, I think, but more about the relationships we create with that specific thing. I think it’s interesting that you’ve named your boat Jackdaw. Jackdaws are one of few bird species that mate for life, meaning they’re monogamous. When a jackdaw finds a mate, they are together for the rest of their lives, which makes them very caring partners and family birds. I’m sure you share the same passion and dedication for your boat, which is why you named it after this bird.
